PCV Resources

Hey PCVs! I have noticed that PCV Central has a limit on the amount of space for uploads and attachments so I thought I would include my resources that I generate or resources that I have found to be useful here for you to peruse and take as you need. Take care and happy volunteering! Benjamin

Complete Computer Literacy Eric Steffen (SA14) Created a fabulous computer curriculum. He finished just before he headed back to the U.S. Because it is too large for PCV Central here it is in its full three years. Updated April 23, 2008

Complete Principal’s and SMT Computer Literacy Workshop Will Marbury (SA 16) has done a tremendous job weaving together a comprehensive computer basics workshop. It is based on Eric Steffen’s (SA14) curriculum with a touch of inspiration on assessment from me and loads of his own personal inginuity. Check it out, it’s good. (OK, so don’t be daunted that the file is quite large. It is over 150 pages, but if I can upload it you can download it.) Updated November 24, 2008

Complete Classroom Management Rebekah Hockman (SA 16) put together this excellent little workshop on Discipline and Classroom Management. If you are fed up with corporal punishment and want to do something in a positive way this workshop is chalk full of good ideas. Updated November 24, 2008

Complete NCS Success Eric Steffen (SA14) worked long and hard to create a comprehensive introduction to the Natural Curriculum Statement. This is his 3-part workshop series which introduces the history of the NCS, explains how it can be used to create daily lesson plans and weaves them into a sold year plan or work schedule. (The workshop has been modified by me slightly to meet the needs of my educators, but still posesses the same content. Updated November 24, 2008

Complete Critical Thinking Erin Ganan (SA16) ran a workshop at our IST on critical thinking. I have reworked it a bit and pulled out the section on questioning strategies. So here is my modification. Updated April 23, 2008

In progress Computer Skills Training Resources (Designed for small groups of Educators) Updated Feb 27, 2008

Cellphone Background Some folks have asked me for the background I use on my cell phone so here it is. Enjoy!

T-Shirt Designs So I showed up at MST wearing a new SA16 t-shirt and a number of you asked, “hey where’d you get that?” The answer to that question was that sent the design to CafePress.com and had the shirt printed in the States. I was a bit miffed after our little t-shirt debacle so we ventured out on our own to do our own thing. Some of you were interested in getting one for yourself and after much (not really) deliberation I decided that you to can “do you own thing”. Feel free to use my designs anyway that you choose. They were fun to make and don’t look half bad on a t-shirt if done correctly. Note: All images are in PNG format with a transparent background. Cheers.
